오늘은 화천 산천어 축제에 대해서 알아보겠습니다.
2003년 1회 산천어 축제를 시작으로 많은 관광객들의 사랑을 받고 있는 산천어 축제는
올해 더욱 풍성하고 다채로운 프로그램이 계획되어 있다고 합니다.
산천어 축제에는 매년 백만명 이상의 관광객이 참여하여 즐긴다고 합니다.
화천산천어축제의 메인이벤트인 산천어 얼음낚시에는 관광객들의 얼음 낚시를 위해 12000개가 넘는 얼음 구멍이 뚫린다고 합니다. 얼음낚시는 화천천에서 할 수 있는데 화천천은 수심이 2m정도이고 강이 매우 맑아 얼음 밑이 잘 들여다보이고 얼음 밑에서는 강바닥에서 유영하고 있는 산천어를 쉽게 확인 할 수 있습니다. 축제 기간 중에는 매일 1톤에서 2톤 사이의 싱싱한 산천어를 화천천에 투입하고 있기 때문에 남녀노소 누구나 다 산천어를 잡아볼 수 있습니다. 평소 낚시를 즐기는 사람들뿐만 아니라 낚시 경험이 전무한 어린이들이나 젊은이들도 산천어 얼음낚시에 참여하여 낚시의 매력에 푹 빠져볼 수 있는 좋은 기회입니다.

산천어 축제는 2019년 1월 5일(토) ~ 2019년 1월 27일 까지 운영하며 운영시간은 평일 오전 9시부터 오후 6시 까지, 주말 8시 30분부터 오후 6시까지 운영합니다. 축제장은 하류에 위치하고 있으며 제 1터널에서 가동보 사이에 위치하고 있습니다. 1일 최대 수용 인원은 8000명으로 축제중에 현장접수 하여 선착순 8,000명을 모집하고 있습니다. 주말에는 오전에 입장이 마감되는 경우가 많고 입장이 조기 마감 될 시에는 현장 여건에 따라서 입장이 가능하다고 합니다.
산천어 낚시를 즐겁게 하는 것도 좋지만, 안전이 가장 우선입니다.
낚시터의 주의 사항으로는 첫 번째, 쾌적한 낚시터의 환경을 유지하기 위해서 음식물의 반입을 금지하고 있습니다. 두 번째는 산천어는 최대 3마리 까지만 잡아서 가지고 가실 수 있다고 하니 3마리 이상 잡았을 때에는 친구에게 나누어 주거나 다른 주변 사람들에게 나누어 줄 수 있는 배려하는 사람이 되면 좋겠습니다. 세 번째, 안전을 위해서 시야가 가려지는 텐트와 난로나 가스레인지 등의 화기는 사용하실 수 없습니다. 네 번째, 겨울 낚시의 환경은 매우 추우므로 따뜻한 방한복을 착용하여 건강에 이상이 생기는 일이 발생하지 않도록 합니다. 다섯 번째, 낚시터는 전지역에서 금연을 실시하고 있으므로 담배를 피워 다른 사람을 눈살 찌푸리게 하는 일이 발생하지 않도록 하시고, 낚시터 근처에 있는 흡연부스를 이용하시기 바랍니다. 마지막으로 애완동물은 출입을 할 수 없으므로 애완동물을 기르고 계신다면 이 점 참고하시어 행사에 참가해 주시기 바랍니다.

현재 입장료는 휴일과 평일 구분없이 중학생 이상, 일반인 참가자라면 15,000원 미취학 아동은 무료로 입장을 하고 있으며, 농특산물교환권 5,000원을 제공하고 있다고 합니다.
